Dry needling naturally restores overall function by desensitizing super-sensitive structures through needling. The process is tailored to each individual for most cases and unlike medication, absolutely no dangerous after-effects.

Each Dry Needling session is cumulative, eliminating chronic pain that medication or traditional treatments cannot resolve.
How does dry needling work?
Dry needling releases tight muscles and relieves pressure on tendons, joints, and nerves by inserting fine needles into the muscle. This activates the muscle's reflexes leading to relaxation, better blood circulation, and restoration of normal function.
Both use fine needles. Acupuncture’s needle placement is defined according to Eastern Medicine principles while dry needling core philosophies lie in understanding human anatomy and neurology. The process of dry needling works to diagnose and treat the pain from its neuropathic origin.
I’ve had acupuncture before. How will this be different?
The number of treatments required depends on an individual’s condition. Generally, if the pain or injury is recent, it may only need 2 therapy sessions. Factors like age and general health status may affect the length of treatment too. Typically Dry Needling is performed once every 2 weeks.
How many treatments do I need?
Upon treatment, a tiny aching sensation might be felt when the needle is inserted into the affected muscles. The treatments are fairly short and for most cases, it is generally painless afterward but some patients may experience soreness for a day or two after their therapy.

What Dry Needling Does:
1. Stretch receptors in your muscle are targeted, resulting in an immediate relaxation of the muscle.
2. Gentle dry-needling causes a microtrauma in the muscle which brings blood to the area and helps it heal.
3. Electrical current now flows through the nerve properly, helping it to heal.
The result: an immediate reduction of muscle spasms, skin, and joint pain, and an increase in joint range.
